And so, one spirited storyteller is inspiring parents across the country to make this season of rebirth and renewal more meaningful by transforming this Easter into a faith-growing experience with their kids.

Raising Resilient Hearts: Beloved Storyteller Helping D.C.'s Youth Find A Safe Harbor In The Storm

The kids are not okay. They are not okay in many places across the country, and they are not okay in the DMV.
This should come as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to what students have been forced to face in recent years on top of normal childhood challenges: a pandemic that snatched from them loved ones and stability, gun violence that is taking from them classmates and a sense of safety, and an opioid epidemic, which has destroyed the lives of many of their peers.
Parents and educators alike have seen up close how DC's youth are struggling, and they are worried.
As many kids grapple with mental health issues and seek an anchor during life's storms, beloved Storyteller Children's Author, and long-time D.C. native, Symone Anderson, is reaching out to help those children who are facing challenges find solace and strength in their faith during Mental Health Awareness Month and beyond.
Inspired by a series of life-altering events, including the passing of her beloved mother, Symone has set out to curate a collection of 12 impactful books for kids in 2024. Her vision is not just about literary creation. Symone's mission is to cultivate in children an inner fortitude drawn from faith, empowering them to successfully navigate and rise above any emotional hardships on their journeys.

A Legacy Of Love: Spirited Storyteller Honoring Mom's Memory By Publishing 12 Children's Books In 12 Months

A mother's love is the warmth that cradled us first, the voice that assured us we were loved even when the world felt cold, and the quiet confidence that knew we could fly, even before we had wings. And even when life carries her away, her love lives on, carrying us back home, no matter how far we roam.
When we carry our mother's spirit in all we do and face life's difficulties with the same fierce love she showed us, we become a living testament to her beautiful legacy.
And so, in the spirit of Mother’s Day, one spirited storyteller is on a mission to honor her mother's memory, while sparking a reading revolution in young hearts.
Inspired by a series of life-altering events, including the passing of her beloved mother, who served nearly 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, Symone embarked on a quest to curate a collection of 12 children's books within a single year. Her vision is not just about literary creation. Symone's mission is to cultivate in children an inner fortitude drawn from faith, empowering them to successfully navigate and rise above any emotional hardships on their journeys.
